Daly River Catchment

The Daly River catchment is one of the four nodes in the Water Security for Northern Australia program. This project aims to enhance our understanding of the water origins of springs that discharge into the Daly River, understand the factors influencing agricultural growth and water use policies.

Naua Gilbert River Catchment

Gilbert River Catchment

The Gilbert River catchment is one of the four nodes in the Water Security for Northern Australia program. The catchment holds environmental, cultural and economical values, which is mostly attributed to the river system and permanent waterholes that stretch the length of the catchment.

Naua Lower Fitzroy Catchment

Lower Fitzroy Catchment

The Lower Fitzroy is one of the four nodes in the Water Security for Northern Australia program. The Lower Fitzroy catchment includes the Rookwood Weir which is nearing completion, however more research is required to reduce the risks for investors and new agricultural enterprises in the region.

Naua Daly River Catchment

Ord River Irrigation Area

The Ord River Irrigation Area (ORIA) is one of the four nodes in the Water Security for Northern Australia program. The ORIA supports a broad array of agriculture including melons, mangos, sandalwood, and broad acre cropping. The ORIA is presently in Stage 2 of development, with farms to the east of Kununurra, towards the NT border, with Stage 3 farms proposed for the NT.
